Arriving in Kings Canyon national park

This is the view from the road as we drove up higher and higher into the hills in the East of California. After the hills, which are called the Sierra Nevada, there is nothing but desert for miles and miles around...

Can you spot Daddy?

This is the stump of a giant Sequoia tree, which are the biggest trees you will ever see. We'll see some living ones tomorrow.

Our camp site!

Papa is making the bed...

We have already heard woodpeckers and other birds

Daddy saw one of these:

It's called a Stellar's Jay. It was very noisy... I hope it goes to sleep tonight!

Location:Sequoia National Park, near Hume,United States

  1. Good morning Daddy and Papa! Esther says she is playing her favourite tune and it's Miriam's favourite tune too. Miriam is loving playing with baby and spotting you both in the pictures. Esther says: how did you climb that mountain Daddy (picture we spotted you in above)? Miriam says: I looked Daddy Papa!

We're getting dressed for school now so check in later!

  2. Ahh, I thought I was hidden in the orange coloured rocks, with my orange coloured t-shirt! These rocks were just on the side of the road where we stopped to admire the view, and I just scrambled up a bit. The rocks were very warm because the sun had been shining on them all day.
